I'm Chris Johnson

Currently a Product Manager at Eli Lilly, building a roadmap focused on observability and efficiency through an AI-assisted process.

Spent 17+ years as a software developer before stepping into product management, but I never stopped building. I started with ML in 2018 using Google's TensorFlow, then brought AI into my developer flow in 2020 through GitHub Copilot's closed beta. Today I run a homelab in my basement to host, fine-tune, and train models, and lean on AI to automate plenty of my personal life too.

At Lilly, that's grown into custom internal tooling and agents that let me operate at a scale a 40-hour week wouldn't normally allow. On the side, I'm shipping PuffRate, building other SaaS tools, and taking on select contract work. It's all powered by the same AI-accelerated workflow, used as a force multiplier on top of the engineering discipline behind it.

Side quests: continuing my education, staying active, taking photos, playing board games, and tending to the needs of alley cats.
